I hope everyone had a safe 4th of July! Our weather here was overcast and 70’s which wasn’t too bad. We are seeing our first days of 90’s this week.
Over the weekend I took my daughter to see the newest Twilight movie. I have to say it was by far the best. The story line was much stronger with a healthy balance of action and romance. I walked away feeling my money had been well spent.
I have to give kudos to Stephanie Meyer for trying to instill the idea of abstinence until marriage. Not that I would have listened in my teen years, but hey, I’m 40 next month and having a teenage daughter my concerns are there. I cringed and sank in my seat a bit when my daughter waved off the words of Edward spoken to Bella about waiting until they were married. I had secretly hoped that she could connect with that idea. I can still hope right?
I read a book this weekend by the author Ted Dekker called "Skin". I read it in two days which is rare for me. The pacing of this thriller was fast through the entire book and I just couldn’t put it down. What a roller coaster ride and I didn’t have things figured out until the killer was actually exposed. If I can figure out "who done it" by the first half of the book I feel let down. I will draw from his writing as an example for my own. Check him out!
Have a great day!
