I love books. When e-readers hit the market I struggled with the idea of not having an actual book in my hand, the feel and smell of the paper and the thrill of hanging out at my favorite bookstore.
I have owned a Sony e-reader and now have an iPad. I like e-books for several reasons. They’re cheaper, one less thing to pack around, you can enlarge the font, fewer books on the bookshelf, and no losing your bookmark. If I believe the book worthy I buy a paper copy for my bookshelf.
I received an email from Kobo about free e-books. Don’t know about you, but I”m all about free. I found 35 pages available on their site. All genres including the classics. Kobo was the first site I discovered that is compatible with most e-readers, tablets, phones and computers. It’s free and instead of driving to the library you can download it in seconds. If you are a Borders fan go to their website, click on an e-book and it will direct you to Kobo. The great thing about it? You can use your Borders gift card.
If you are resistant, but curious this is a great way to try it out. I’ve discovered some great authors this way. It’s a fantastic marketing tool.
Until next time…
