Evertaster” by Adam Glendon Sidwell, is the most creative and fun story I’ve read in years! If a mid grade novel isn’t for you, then read it to your children, grandchildren, kids you babysit, or a gift for someone’s birthday. It will inspire them to use their imagination!
“Evertaster” brings not only an imaginative plot, but characters that you identify with no matter your age.
Guster, the main character, is a particular eater, and has the gift of ample taste buds, which often lands him in hot water with his mother since he refuses to eat her meals. Mom has four children, Mariah the oldest, Zeke who should not be behind the wheel of a car, Guster, and the baby Henry Jr. The last thing she has time to deal with is Guster’s pickiness. However, out of sheer desperation, she takes the family to downtown New Orléans, in hope of finding something for Guster to eat. After locating a pastry shop, Guster meets the Master Pastry Chef that gives him an antique eggbeater, and then proceeds to die. Exasperated and stunned, mom and crew begin to leave when the Red Chef appears and wants the eggbeater. He will stop at nothing to obtain it, and the secrets it holds within. The journey begins.
My favorite part was Joggling the Bovines! I laughed out loud as I visualized these men with their cows. It’s funnier than the milkshake commercial for Hardee’s/Carl’s Jr. If you want to know more concerning joggling bovines, click here.
“Evertaster” reached #1 on Amazon its first day. I hope you will join us on the journey of “the one recipe”, and would love to hear your opinion.
Adam Sidwell just tweeted me saying the Evertaster Trailer is now available!
