A few months ago I posted concerning some great writing tools, and since the new year is right around the corner, I’d like to share a few more as we all set our writing goals. I know anything that helps with my writing or marketing is much appreciated.
The Deluxe Edition Writer’s Market 2013 book is an amazing tool. This book provides contact information for literary agents, book publishers, editors of trade and consumer publications, writing contests and more. Also included are articles about social media, marketing and writing query letters. This book holds vital information.
Here’s my favorite part though. The deluxe edition comes with a free one year subscription to writersmarket.com!! Writersmarket.com is also a fantastic resource. You can search for markets for short stories, novels, photography and much more. I found several magazines that I submitted my latest short story too.
If you purchase this book at Barnes and Nobles it runs $49.99. UG, I’m not sure about you, but that’s a lot of money some days. However, at Amazon it’s listed for $28.50 plus free shipping. It’s also listed on Writer’s Digest for $28.56. It pays for itself the minute you begin using writersmarket.com.
Another tool that I’ve discovered are blog directories. Blog directories help people searching for specific types of blogs to find YOU. We all want to grow our platform, increase our subscribers and promote our products. When I began looking at it, it reminded me of white pages for blogs. Here is a link from a google search. http://www.searchenginejournal.com/20-essential-blog-directories-to-submit-your-blog-to/5998/
One last item that ended up being a hot topic. The Smart Pen. If you missed the previous post it’s here: https://jenowenby.wordpress.com/2012/07/17/tools-for-writers/
I wanted to mention it again due to Black Friday coming up, and I’m assuming they will go on sale.
I’d love to hear what tools you use, and your success with them.
Until Next Time…
