Wow, am I behind on my writing reading! Let me rephrase that, I subscribe Writer’s Digest and I have three magazines waiting for me to read. So, I delved into one. Well, the beginning anyway.
The article, “Branding Like a Master”, in the January 2014 issue, has a great article. Now, one thing I’m becoming more and more familiar with is branding, and not only due to my writing short stories, but it’s a huge piece of the résumé writing business as well.
“Branding Like a Master” refers to Ernest Hemingway and his book “The Sun Also Rises”. And, I did enjoy reading more about his writing, but this is the part of the article that I truly took away with me.
“Be yourself on the page and off. Embrace that persona, and be consistent. If you’re funny in your prose, use humor in your blog posts, social media updates, presentations, readings-everywhere you’re presenting your public image.”
So, be true to yourself and who you are in your writing and all that you do.
