I read a wonderful kindle short story recently by J.A. Owenby about a girl whose mother has clear mental health issues. The story is not a lecture. It offers no diagnosis or cure. It instead depicts the struggle faced by its protagonist, a teenage girl named Lacey, and presents a very real and poignant picture of the frustration and ambiguity that can threaten to immobilize anyone a conflicted, ultimately chaotic predicament. It’s very short, only 99¢ when I downloaded it, and well worth the read. Following is a description of the story and its author.
