Words inspire, create and sometimes they reach inside you so deeply they root themselves for better or worse. These words shook me to my core when I read them yesterday. I wanted to share them with you, and however you choose to read them, whatever they mean for you, I hope it’s something life changing.
“I can find only three kinds of business in the universe: mine, yours and God’s. (For me, the word God means “reality”. Reality is God, because it rules. Anything that’s out of my control, your control, and everyone else’s control- I call that God’s business.)
Much of our stress comes from mentally living out of our own business. When I think, “You need to get a job, I want you to be happy, you should be on time, you need to take better care of yourself, “I am in your business. When I’m worried about earthquakes, floods, war or when I will die, I am in God’s business, for example with a thought like “My mother should understand me,” I immediately experienced a feeling of loneliness. And I realized that every time in my life that I had felt hurt or lonely, I had been in someone else’s business. If you are living your life and I am mentally living your life, who is here living mine? We’re both over there. Being mentally in your businesses keeps me from being present in my own. I am separate from myself, wondering why my life doesn’t work. To think that I know what’s best for anyone else is to be out of my business.” Byron Katie “Loving What Is”.

I really like your writing style, good information, appreciate it for posting :D. “All words are pegs to hang ideas on.” by Henry Ward Beecher.
Thanks for sharing and stopping by 🙂
Interesting blog. What is important to know for true happiness is only worry about what you have control over. The rest turn over to the Lord and he will take care of it. It will lift a tremendous burden off of one’s shoulders.
I agree and thank you for stopping by.
Thank you Shirley, you too.
Great blog. Thank you for visiting and liking mine. Have a blessed day.
You too!
Thank you very much for sharing these, Jen. I love the post in its entire built. One of the quotes I needed to read right now. And I thank you especially for it.
Kathryn- I think for years I’ve lived in someone else’s business. It’s caused so so much stress. Thinking about it this way is so simple. I like simple 🙂
Jen, you always have just the right words. This is wonderful. We all need to spend time with our own business. We can’t do God’s business and we can’t do someone else’s business.
I’ve been feeling this so much lately, trying to cement it into my consciousness. Thank you so much for sharing it! These words do feel like a godsend today.
I’m so glad it helped you.
